Tonya the Tourist

Last Friday, Tonya's daughter, Megan, had a Halloween party at school. Since Justin and Emily (Tonya's twins) go to the same junior high as Becca they came to our house to wait for their Mom to be done with the party. Tonya is a much better mother than I am so she dressed up for Megan's school party. I snapped these photos of her and Megan as she stopped to pick up Justin and Emily.
My kids were excited that I wore an orange Halloween shirt!
We love having cousins around and getting to see them regularly. I think it is such a treat that our kids get to go to the same school. Hannah will join them next year!

Leon's Headstone

Mom sent me this picture of Dad's headstone. She was at the cemetery today when they placed it. Thought you might like to see it.

A great big "Thank You" to all of my family that came to my surprise get-together to help me celebrate my 75th birthday last week. It was wonderful to see everyone and it certainly was a surprise! I enjoyed all the gifts, cards, well wishes and love shown to me by so many good people.

To Barbara and family

I just wanted to say again how much we love your family and how sad we are for your loss. Yesterday was a wonderful celebration of Leon's life and your family. Your lives and great examples are a tribute to his. Keep "keeping on"...the worst is over. Love you all, Wendy
(I would like to post some pictures from yesterday, but the laptop is all I have to work with today and I don't know how to do it from here.)

Another Happy Birthday!

We have several double birthdays in our family and today, June 11th, is one of them. Wendy's little sister, whose age we won't mention, was born on this date in 1963...exactly 4 1/2 years after Wendy. Happy birthday, Melanie! We hope your day is a wonderful one! Birthday wish #2 goes to Jonathan's wife, Kristen, whom we spent the day with at "This is the place" Heritage Park. (Pictures of that will be posted later.) Kristen is a wonderful wife, mother and daughter-in-law. We are so glad she is in our family. It was a fun day despite the rain...we hope you had fun! We love you both! Wendy, Corey & the Orme gang

Yeah for summer!

Yeah for summer! Madison, Kaelyx, Tynan, and Ry'ak are all excited to play outside and be in the water. Only two more days left of school, and then the summer is all their's!

EXCITING NEWS!

This is Wendy posting (again)...I think I may be the only one who reads this anymore or who posts anything, for that matter. Anyway, we are happy to announce that there will be a new Orme born in January to Jonathan & Kristen! Congratulations to them (and to the rest of us Ormes, too!) Now it really is someone else's turn to post on this blog!!! I miss hearing from everyone!

Double Birthday Celebration!

We are lucky enough to have two fine family members with the same birthday on May 2nd: Cody (36...hee, hee) and William (2). Last night we filled Dad's house with friends and family from far and near. Melanie was in Utah for Women's Conference...it was great to see her! Thanks to everybody who brought food and helped in any way. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, you two!

Our daughter, Megan, sells Usborne Books from home and they are the cutest, most wonderful books we've ever seen for kids. Our grandkids run for them first thing when they come to visit Grammy and Grandpa...SO we're having an e-party which will close at midnight on Wed., Apr. 29th. Just click on the following link, then on Wendy's name to view hundreds of titles for kids of all ages. Here is one of our granddaughters reading one of her favorites. I tried to upload pictures of the other grandkids, but for some reason they wouldn't load.

Wyoming Rodeo anyone?

Does anyone else remember this vacation? I think we went to the rodeo in Wyoming. I can't believe we got this many people all on one trip! Just thought I would post another photo I found in Mom and Dad's photos.

Great Photo

More Old Pics

As long as we're in the old photo sharing mood...I loved seeing these two Williams family photos at Jack and Nancy's last week...I'd never seen them before so I took a photo of the photos. I love seeing happy pictures of my dad when he was a kid! Wendy

Old Photo

Hi Everyone,

It was a lot of fun to see eveyone the other night at Aunt Nancy's. I just got Mom's photos digitized...I am still going through them but I thought you might like to see this one on Lynne, Justin, Mike and Jimmy. It was taken on the lawn at Grandma & Grandpa Williams' house.
Have a great day.

Fun Times with Family!

Thanks so much to those great aunts, uncles and cousins for the super fun pizza party in Sandy, Utah last night! It was wonderful to see relatives we hadn't seen for years, in some cases. We got together mainly because Jimmy and his wife, Melissa, and son and daughter came up from Texas. What a cute family they are! We also celebrated 4 birthdays (maybe someone else can remember who ALL 4 were?) The kids enjoyed playing with each other in the backyard and the adults talked and talked and talked...We need to do this more often! Thanks again!

Emily, Hannah, and the Rosin Eating Zombies.

Emily (Tonya's daughter) and Hannah (my daughter) play in a community youth orchestra together. This is a photo of them at their last concert. It is such a treat for us to have cousins nearby!

Also they will have the unique opportunity of going to junior high and high school together. We are so excited! We never dreamed that they would get to go to school together. The school is a small school and admission is lottery based. Somehow both of our families have some luck. Maybe all that luckiness rubbed off from Barbara. She never losses a drawing.

The name of the song they are playing is Rosin Eating Zombies.

More on Leon

Hi Everyone,

I just talked to Mom and they are releasing Dad from the hospital today. Every day this week it has been a different story. We will release him...we won't release him. It has been as up and down as his health, unfortunately. Some days Mom has been thrilled because he is sitting up talking and eating. Other days, he is down and out and in LOTS of pain. But, the good news is that his white blood count is way up and they believe he will now be capable of fighting off any infections that may come his way.

They have decided that he will take a break from chemo for the next few weeks and then they will re-evaluate when and if to begin. Dad would like to continue if at all possible. The pain is at times excruciating and at best miserable. We don't know why he has to suffer so much but he has a great attitude and hopefully being home will help his spirits.

Leon

Mom and Dad with Burke's Daughter Annika

All the Leon Williams Grandkids
(and two extras)

Justin & his daughter Aqui

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to let everyone know that Dad is in the hospital again. :(
Dad was released from the hospital last Thursday and Mom loaded him on an airplane on Friday to go to Las Vegas! Fortunately, we were able to spend the weekend together as a family. Every person attended Justin's daughter's baptism in Las Vegas over the weekend. Mom and Dad flew back home on Sunday afternoon. By 1 a.m. on Monday he had a high fever and Mom took him back to the hospital. He was admitted and has been there all week. We are keeping our fingers crossed that he will be released today or tomorrow.
His fever is caused by an abnormally low number of white blood cells called neutrophil and the fever accompanying it is called neutropenia. We believe that today he will begin to receive a series of special shots that will boost his bodies white blood cells and help him recover. The shots should also help his immune system.
If all goes as planned, he will be released today or tomorrow. Thanks for keeping him in your prayers.
Kellie

Update on Leon

Hi Everyone,

Dad is in the hospital again. They think that he has a bowel blockage, however, they don't know for certain. He is at the Huntsman hospital.

Please keep him in your prayers. We would really appreciate it. We are hopeful that he will be out very soon. I will keep everyone updated as we know more.

Thanks for all the love and concern.

Kellie
P.S. The photo was taken this past summer.

Megan's had a Birthday!

Our cute little Megan has somehow grown up to be a beautiful 26 year old wife and mother of two! Her birthday is actually today, but we celebrated as a family on Monday night with chocolate cheesecake, cherry pie, presents and a short but rousing game of bowling. Happy Birthday, Megan! We love you lots!
