Thanks for the lovely memory and pictures of your Mom. What a valient lady. I miss her tons!
I would love to have a copy of the collage that Linda made.
We had so much fun on our Alaska cruise in June of 2006. I know she didn't feel real great, but she was a Real trooper. The long Train ride out of Skagway and up the Yukon pass was beautiful and breathtaking but exhausting for her, I am sure.
Who would have thought that we would be going through the same thing just a few months later with Uncle Leon.
Here's a Poem that I ran across recently that I love.
A Golden Chain
Anonymous
Friendship is a Golden Chain,
The links are friends so dear,
And like a rare and precious jewel
It's treasured more each year...
It's clasped together firmly
With a love that's deep and true,
And it's rich with happy memories
and fond recollections, too...
Time can't destroy its beauty
For, as long as memory lives,
Years can't erase the pleasure
That the joy of friendship gives...
For friendship is a priceless gift
That can't be bought or sold,
But to have an understanding friend
Is worth far more than gold...
And the Golden Chain of Friendship
Is a strong and blessed tie
Binding kindred hearts together
As the years go passing by.
Love, Aunt Barb
